Phone dialer

Jack

Hello,
I am running windowsXP pro which I recently installed.
For some reason which I am sure I caused I lost the phone
dialer icon and the "dialer.exe" file. Any suggestions
as to how to recoup them. I have checked all the files
that I could find relating to the phone dialer but no
luck. I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions
as to how to recover them or maybe a location where I
might download them again.
Thank you, Jack

Dialer.exe is a System Protected file. Therefore, if you somehow you
deleted it from its location \Program Files\Windows NT\ dialer.exe, the next
time you rebooted, dialer.exe would have been copied back to that folder
from the copy that's stored in \WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\. If you haven't
changed your folder view settings, that file won't show in Windows Explorer
or My Computer. To show that file so you can make a desktop shortcut for
it: Double click the My Computer desktop icon. When My Computer is open
click the Tools menu, click Folder Options. When the Folder Options dialog
box opens click the View tab. Scroll down to the heading: Hidden Files and
Folders and click on the circle to the left of the option: Show Hidden Files
and Folders to select that option. Two items down from there is the option:
Hide Protected Operating System Files. Click on the square to the left of
that item to REMOVE the check mark. (If there's an Are You Sure You Want
To... dialog box, click the Yes button) Then click the Apply and OK
buttons. Then navigate to the folder \Program Files\Windows NT\ and you
should see the dialer.exe file. Right click that file, then left click Send
To/Desktop (Create Shortcut).DeskLink.
