I have Microsoft Dynamics Navision and an Avaya IP Office 500 phone system.
The Avaya system has the TAPI driver installed, and I can dial on my desk
phone from Outlook.
From Dynamics Navision, selecting the phone Icon leads to an "incompatible"
message on the handset. Also, it brings up on the desktop the "Microsoft
Active Voice Phone Dialer 1.5" with an error message of wrong number.
Checked the phone/modem settings, which have dialing rule for dialing 9 to
get outside line. These are the same settings that work for Outlook, which
will dial where a Contact phone number is 555-555-5555 (no 1 prefix for long
distance).
Bypassing the Dynamics Nav, and strictly using the Active Voice Phone
Dialer, if I select Dial, it will dial out, but ONLY if I use a phone number
of 9-1-555-555-5555. If I use a standard 555-555-5555, I get the same error
as when using Nav. The dialer won't dial the prefix number.
So, even though the dialing rules are set FROM WITHIN the OPTIONS menu item
in Phone Dialer, the Phone Dialer won't apply them. How is that even
possible?
