On the startup tab of MSCONFIG, there's a checkmark with no name under
startup nor under command but there is a partial location because one cannot
expand the box
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVers....

Trying to track it down via MSINFO32, I notice a program named PCDrProfiler
located in the above RUN key. I can't find much on it; an implication that
it may be associated with Spybot but I'm not sure.

Can anyone define what this is? I use Avast, AdAware and Spybot and all are
up to date.

Thanks

Got PC-Doctor installed? It comes preinstalled on a lot of OEM machines.

Probably
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Double click the header divider in msconfig to see the whole location. Or
hit Ctrl plus the + key and scroll over to see. Or drag the header divider
to see the whole entry.

Ring any bells?

[PCDrProfiler]
C:\Program Files\PC-Doctor 5 for Windows\RunProfiler.exe" -r

Apparently RunProfiler.exe is PCDrProfiler.

Looks like PC-Doctor 5 for Windows comes with some HP machines.

Thanks gentlemen. I didn't know I had that program although it's obviously
in the program files. Man, it would have been nice to get a manual with this
purchase!
