A 'blank name' program starts at boot up

When I run msconfig (system configuration utility), I notice a program with a
blank name (no name) in my start tab. The location is:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVer.....

What is this file? Is it a spyware or virus? How come it has no name? Should
I remove it (and how)?

Press the CTRL and the + key (numeric keypad) to auto-size the columns in
the MSConfig Startup tab. Note down the application name and full Path if
available. Also, look at the registry location mentioned there.

run regedit. go to the location given. look for the entry with blank name.
click on it. what application does it refer to?

if it was valid application, it would have name. probably safe to delete it.

Did you install Norton Ghost 9.0?
It adds that entry to my msconfig, but nothing is under the key shown.
Went thru complete wipe/reinstall, no internet connection. It's Norton.

To remove the entry, uncheck the box in msconfig and reboot.
When the utility opens after restart, the entry will be gone.
