PC Crash help please?

Over the last few days my computer has crashed randomly, weather I'm playing
a game or reading news groups....

The first time I got the following

BAD_POOL_CALLER

:::STOP: 0x000000C2 (0x00000007, 0x00000CD4, 0x00001707, 0x81684810)

I restarted the computer and everything seemed fine until the next day......
when I started my computer I got a blue screen of death more or less right
away.

I got this message
alcaudsl.sys WDM Driver error 20E [alcaudsl.systb1b1fat F0zB3B1F]

Since that the computer has frozen. I have ran chkdsk /f and that repaired
all the files that didn't work. I also found out I had a virus which has
been taken care off....

so if someone can give me some advice please.

Athlon 600
256 mb ram
8 gig main HD and a 30gig slave
Soundblaster 1024 sound card
Geforce 2 MX 400/200 graphics card

Also sometimes when I start my PC there's a noise from the computer,
something spinning like a fan...... could a faulty heat sink give me these
types of problems?

open your case and determine which fan is defective
the problem you have could be caused by overheating

when you find the bad fan, replace it
it;s not worth trying to repair
