password prompt

Hi all, I have read and reread all the posts already listed about this
problem. Brian Tillman, MVP Outlook posted some suggestions to one set of
questions and I did all of those already. I also phoned my ISP and walked
through setting up the Outlook account again. All to no avail.

(password prompts repeatedly despite all the commands to the contrary)

This problem only ocurred after I loaded IE 8. I wish I could go back in
time...IE 8 has ruined so many programs on my computer. I can't reset my
web-search default. It will default to MS Live search only, despite my
repeated commands to change default to Google. It will not allow my citibank
virtual account number program to run, frustrating my attempts at easy
online purchases, and also this outlook problem.

We want to get another computer soon for other reasons. I'm ready to buy a
Mac and leave the whole PC world behind.

Anyone have last ditch suggestions? I have already reset the registry key
like 7 times with no luck. I have also contacted the ISP to see if they
"lost/forgot/reset" my password. No luck.

Did you try uninstalling IE8? Have you tried a system restore point from
before you installed IE8?

Brian, I was just discussing the idea of uninstalling IE8. I plan to try
that next. I don't understand your suggestion about a system restore. More
info, please?
