Keeps prompting to change password

Q

have a user that has a profile setup in Outlook 2003. When launching
Outlook, it prompts to change the password, stating it is no longer valid and
needs to be changed. User changes password and all is good.....until they
close out and relaunch outlook again. It then says the same thing. It never
actually keeps the password credentials. Their account in active directory
is never locked out and I have reset the password on the AD account, but it
still states it needs changed. Is there somewhere it needs to be cleared
out? It is an exchange account setup in their profile and the other profile
on the machine is not having the same issue. I have already deleted the
profile of the user, rebooted the computer and added it back in. Any ideas??
Thanks!

Has the user possibly left himself logged into another PC somewhere in the
domain and his password has expired?

Occasionally, one of our users will somehow save a password. It's no problem
until they change their domain password, then the saved password no longer
works.

Check in Control Panel, User Accounts. If the user is not an administrator,
it'll pop a log in, but she can select "manage your passwords" near the
bottom of that login dialog. Remove anything that might be saved there.

In addition to my last post . .
if the user is an administrator, she can select her account and Advanced and
manage her passwords there.

no, have checked that also...password has not expired....Domain account is
not set to force user to change password on login either

User is not an admin, just regular user...logging into the local machine as a
generic user and then the profiles for mail are setup under Outlook. I'll
look at this though and see if there is anything.

Yeah!! This is what the problem was...there were 2 different saved login
credentials. Deleted them and rec'd the correct login prompt and all is
good. Thanks!
