password problem

when i try to receive, I'm prompted for my user and password, which is saved, I hit ok and it asks me again like I never gave it. I cant receive because of this.

This does NOT help this particular issue... The password saved is
correct, its an issue with Outlook being able to connect to the mail
server (I think). If there is a lag, its timing out and displaying
this dialog box. If we click OK, it may or may not work. However,
continuously clicking OK as the dialog appears will finally get a
successful mail delivery.

Never does one have to reenter their password, so the password /
username info is not corrupted. There is something else wrong here.

This fix, I believe, is for folks having problems with missing or
invalid passwords.

I'm a technical user of 15 years, software developer, etc... this is
has been a stumper for me. It needs some serious resolution. I
personally think there is a corrupt or problematic system file causing
this.

Is "Mike" also "Mark" who originally posted ?

If you're having problems with the mail server and connectivity to same,
this is not an Outlook issue, it's a networking one or server availability
problem.
