Need to re-enter saved password on opening Outlook

Every time I open Outlook, I need to hit send/receive for it to connect, then
it prompts me for my password (even though I selected "Save Password" in the
set-up). After that, I have to hit send/receive again for it to do anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are several versions of Outlook. You want us to guess which one
you use?

same thing in my outlook 2003... I even reinstalled it and lost all of my
emails... still keeps requiring me to type in password even though it is
saved...
