Pages stop Loading

Hello all! I am having a weird problem, Certain pages load all the time and
I never have any problem with them, however, some pages stop loading after
awhile of using the internet. If I reboot everything works fine for awhile
and then it starts over. I have this problem with IE and FireFox. Once the
page stops loading in one browser it stops in the other. I am running my
laptop side by side through the same Netgear Cablemodem/Wireless Router and
do not have the problem with the laptop. When the pages stop on the desktop
they still work on the laptop, both computers are running XP pro with sp2,
and Computer Associates AV and FW, the Windows Firewall is off and I have
even tried it with the Computer Associates FW off with no effect. As stated
above, this happens gradually the longer I am on line, if I reboot, all the
pages start working again, and the whole process starts over. Has anyone
ever heard of anything like this?
Thanks......

Hi Scott,
I'm having the same problem! I've tried different networks but I haven't
been able to isolate what's causing the problem. I'm still looking for more
information but I'll post a solution here if I find anything.

Hi :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Clear out temporary files and delete cookies.
http://www.pchell.com/support/privacy.shtml

also......

Start>Run> type each of the following one at a time and hit enter after each
entry.
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

Reboot

If the above does not work, then do the following:

Start>Run type sfc /scannow in the window (note the space between the c and
/) and see what it tells you.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Jan :)

Well I gave the above a try with no success. I don't know what is happening.
After I get the first unable to find message, which I know sometimes sites
are busy or down temporarily, when I try to go back to it I get the www*.*"
Could Not Be Found. Please Check Name And Try Again immediately, way to fast
for FireFox or IE to be actually be looking for the site. And if the site is
working in FF I can also load it in IE, but once I get the message in either
of the browsers, it will not work in neither of them, but I can immediately
go to the page on my laptop, whitch is connected to the same router. This is
really weird and I need help bad. PS....There are some pages such as this
one, cnn.com, foxnews.com and others that always work, even when I am
getting the message about other pages. It has to be something internal on my
end I just don't know where to look.
Thanks...............
