OWA & winmail.dat

Okay, I have done a fair amount of rearch on the subject of winmail.dat and
Outlook. I have reconfigured my end users Outlook to send in HTML format.
This has solved most issues for those who are using Outlook. However, I
still have several users who use OWA. How can I change their email format to
HTML so their attachments can be viewed by others?

We are using Outlook 2003 on an Exchange 2003 server.

Any assistance or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

OWA users should not have a winmail.dat problem and their mail should always
be HTML.

Change their format to Plain Text if HTML doesn't work. Don't use rich text.

Mary,

Where in OWA can I change this setting. I have looked in Options and don't
see anything that would help this matter.

Please advise.
Thank you.

Unfortunately they do have this problem. One particular end user has created
an email with a Excel document as an attachment using OWA. The email was
then sent to a recipient using an AOL email account. The recipient cannot
open the attachment. It arrives as an winmail.dat. Where does this problem
really lay? Is there a possiblity that it may lay in the formatting of
application creating the attachment (Word, Excel, Ppt)??

Your continued assistance and advisement is greatly appreciate.

Thank you
