First of all, I'm an MCP so I'm not a newbie. Secondly, please don't let me
see a post about the modified date because as I am archiving, the dates I'm
choosing are in the range of the modified date AND/OR the received date, so
that's not it either.

I'm using Outlook 2003 with SP2. Will Microsoft just fess up and say they
flubbed and you can't archive with it?

And to think of the time I wasted weeks ago upgrading from Outlook Express
after all these years so that I could have my email in the same place with my
calendar and contacts and get rid of Lotus Organizer. Never again.
Microsoft should be ashamed. Theyd don't even address the issue online and
I've seen questions posted online dating back to 2004 about this issue.

HAS ANYONE EVER RESOLVED THIS ISSUE? I refuse to do this manually. I'll
just switch products again if this won't work.

By the way, I am not using Exchange Server - I'm on a home pc and use pst
files only. Everything stored locally.

I can see you're pissed - that means drunk here BTW.

As an MCP are you aware that there's no such thing as an upgrade from
Outlook Express to Outlook? They aren't even vaguely related let alone
versions of the same package.

My view is that manually dragging from the Mailbox to other .PST files is
the most effective method to file old Outlook stuff. You can see what you
took and where you deposited it.A simple question - why archive on a
standalone PC anyway?

If you tell us what's not working, we may be able to explain why. We do not
work for Microsoft BTW - so go rant at them somewhere else. This is a
voluntary service where some manners are required.

Okay Judy. First, I by "upgraded" I simply meant I moved from the less
powerful EXPRESS version to the Outlook version. As far as manners goes,
nowhere did I curse or disrespect anyone within this community and you
certainly were not forced to answer this question. Naturally I am bothered
and I expressed it.

Why would I archive on a standalone machine? It's what I do. I have emails
as far back as 2002; it's just the way that I work. I save those pst files
on separate disks to keep my mail file small and to refer to things like
account emails, old ebay purchase, etc.

I am, of course, aware that I can move these item manually. I do not want
to. I paid for Office 2003 and would like to use the features as they are
there for a reason and should work. At work, I use archiving with Outlook
2003 and it works every time. And since so many users are having this same
problem, it is apparent it's an Outlook issue, not a user issue.

I also meant to mention initially that the all my files are just under 750MB
in case anyone wanted to note the files size.

And as far as Outlook and Outlook Express not being vaguely related - hey, I
understand what you're saying - still when you roll over from Express, you're
given the option to convert your old files to work with Outlook so I called
it an upgrade in this respect.

Thanks, Judy for your reply.

By the way; something else I thought of. Not all the folders are marked to
archive to a pst file. Some are marked to "permanently delete" the files
older than x months. Still doesn't work.

I have also run scanpst.exe on all the folders involved and no errors were
found on any.
