When I use the DEfault autoachive - my co workers files are getting archived
and mine are not. I see the archive.pst when I go to from within Outlook to
File - Open datafile - archive.pst. the archive folder goes to the left
-taskbar but I don't have an INBOX like everyone else and the files are not
archived out of original inbox.

Also read a few places that the date Modified may make them not move - the
date modifed when go to the file properties is older than 6 months and - the
default setting - PLease HELP!!!!

someone else has the same default settings and some move into archive and
some don't - no individual archive set up on ind. folders and again the date
modified is Older than the 6 months - this seems to have a mind of its own???

thanks,
BArb

You used Archive or AutoArchive? AutoArchive only runs on your default
delivery location, so unless you have your co-worker's mailbox as the
default, this is not possible. Your post is lacking the necessary mail
configuration information to tell anything about that let alone telling you
how to fix it.

(Auto)Archive certainly doesn't have a mind of its own. However, it could be
failing because of mailbox or pst-file corruption. But again; your post is
lacking the necessary mail configuration information to tell anything about
that let alone telling you how to fix it.

Sorry that I was unclear: I am just trying to make the autoachive work just
on my computer to my Own file/folder - my co worker has the exact same
settings - and it is working on theirs.

I am talking about the autoarchive- and same thing happens when just File
archive-

No messages are archived on mine but coworkers are - we are archiving to
our OWN archive.pst. We are just trying to understand why mine works and his
doesn’t. – NO individual folders have own archive properties – looked and
all are default.

Here are the settings in the autoarchive Tools-Options-other autoarchive

X Run Autoarchive every 14 days
X Prompt before AutoArchive runs
During autoarchive
X delete expired items(e-mail folders only)
X Archive or delete old items
X Show archive folder in folder list
Default folder setting for archiving
Clean out items older than 6 months
X Move old itmes to: C:\Documents and Settings\Barb\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst

-what could it be???

And the modified dates for all are original - older than the 6 months-check
that already

Version of Outlook?
Type of mail account?
Which mailbox is set as the default delivery location?
Which method do you use to open items of your co-workers?
Which folder is selected when you initiate a manual archive?

Version of Outlook? 2003
Type of mail account? pop/smtp just on own laptop-not over server

Which mailbox is set as the default delivery location? personal folders(go
to inbox)

Which method do you use to open items of your co-workers? I am not trying to
open my coworkers- just comparing our own - theirs works on their laptop with
same settings and mine does not - don't see inbox under archive folders and
files don't get archived???
To open archived files on my own I go to file-open data file and get the
archive.pst

Which folder is selected when you initiate a manual archive? archive folder

when you set the manual archive folder to the Inbox and all of its subfolders
(assuming this is correct)- does that also set up what folder to archive for
the autoarchive? This might be it.

Also tried to repair by archive folder and had to hand type the path in -saw
no errors - just wondering why I can not see the lc:\documents and
settings\barb\ocal settings folder\application data
folder\microsoft\outlook\archive.pst - I can get to the barb folder but then
the local settings one I can not see -but it ran the reparir fine when I hand
typed in the path - this is not the first time I could not get to the local
settings folder - what am I missing here?

thanks,
barb

The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder. By default Windows is set to
hide hidden files and folder.
Indeed, when you do a manual archive, in the dialog that pops-up make sure
you select the folder you want to archive.
