Outlook is Synchronizing Folders

L

Larry Bohen

I have been experiencing extreme slowness in receiving emails and surfing
the Web for about a week and have been consulting with various tech support
to resolve. So far no success.

I have noticed for the past few days that an icon in my task tray says that
Outlook is synchronizing folders. This icon is constantly present. Could the
synchronizing process be causing the slow email receiving problem?

How long should synchronizing take?

How do I shut synchronizing off?

I think it shows all the time because your connection is slow. You can
easily verify this; shut down Outlook and see if your connection is still
slow.

The "synchronizing" icon disappeared a few minutes ago and my email and Web
surfing are back to normal.

I've got a lot of emails in my Outlook Inbox. Guess I'll clean it out so
synchronzing doesn't take so long next time.
