"Outlook is requesting data from the server"

Hello,

We are using SBS2003 with Outlook 2003. Some of our users connect to
Exchange using RPC over HTTP. This has worked well for a while but now we
are getting more and more complaints about messages not being sent or
received.

When using Outlook the Windows systemtray shows an exclamation mark with the
message "Microsoft Office Outlook is requesting data from the server". This
message stays there until you cancel it manually by choosing "Cancel server
request". Until you do this no messages are being recieved or sent.

Anyone know a solution ?

Thank you,

Werner

I have found the same problem lately using Outlook 2003 as well.
However, I haven't found cancel send/receive to be of any help in
solving the issue. It's been my experience that I've had to close
Outlook and then wait for that exclaimation mark to leave the tray
before reopening. Often I have to restart the computer in order to
send the emails. Lately I've begun opening my email in Outlook and
then resorting to going to the web server to send/receive. Any
solution to this would be greatly appreciated. Often in my job,
receiving and replying to email immediately is imperative and this has
created a huge problem lately.

Thanks!
