Outlook freezes

I’ve gotten outlook on a computer and the program freezes when it loads up,
no send/receive, forward, reply, or new buttons. The mailboxes seem to be
alright but the program just locks up tight when you try to view e-mail or
send/receive.

I’ve deleted it and loaded it again, and it still does not work. Any
suggestions, help???

Thanks

Version of OL?
Tried Detect/Repair (An uninstall/reinstall rarely helps)
Tried scanpste.exe, the inbox repair tool, with OL closed

Tried using 'Safe' switch?
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe " /safe

2003
did, MS Diagnostic, sacnpst.exe, scanost.exe, started in safe mode, changed
the name of frmcach.dat, extend.dat (could not find outcmd.dat) restarted,
sucked my thumb and threw a teadybear at it... it still starts ok.... then it
hangs not allowing anything excepttaskmanager process kill.

If you are a home user, probably a *.pst - thats the outlook data file,
Properties of Personal Folders.
Exchange would be *.ost

In Control Panel, Adminastrative Tools, check Event Viewer for any likely
errors (timed when the freeze occurs)

I checked the log, there was a fault bucket which was not helpfull in why
the program stopped responding, there eas a general fault that again told me
nothing usefull. I have loaded other people onto the machine and they seem to
be able to connect just fine... i hav not tried to put my troubbled user onto
their side.... i will try that next.

any help would be appreciated.

Last resort;
Configure a new Profile, not copy old, - via Mail applet in the control
Panel - with a new data file
Add the accounts & test.
