Outlook Express

I have just installed XP on my computer and am having
problems viewing pictures that are being sent to me...I
am using Outlook Express to send and receive email and
there are times when I can view pictures and then there
are times when nothing shows up in them..is there some
thing I can adjust to be able to view every picture that
is sent to me? Any assistance is appreciated.

that can read all of the many file formats available?
