I can't view pictures on a CD that was sent to me it is using UDF and I have
been up all night and am so frustrated. I have read everything and I
understand that it says on the Microsoft website that these files can't be
read by XP. Okay, I have loaded and then unloaded 4 programs overnight on a
trial basis to correct this problem, the pictures are there, but without
buying the program, can't see them. It is not possible at this time for me to
purchase a program. I have searched and any free programs that used to be out
there are no longer there or didn't work. I sent for a hotfix link from
Microsoft and they sent it to me, but after reading all the warning about
using it, I am afraid. I am just a lay person the the PC, no tech here. I am
using Windows Service Pack 2 and haven't upgraded to 3, really don't have the
space and also I couldn't find in anything I read where it said it would make
me able to view UDF files anyway, if it does, would someone let me know
please. If not, does anyone have any help for me as to what to do to be able
to open the pictures, a free program, should I use the hotfix, any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. These pictures are precious to me
as they are of my Grandmother's 95th birthday party and my Dad who sent me
the CD has viewed it on 4 different PC's and can see them on all.
Thank you so much, please help me.
