Your subject says Outlook Express and the body says Outlook. They are two
different programs and Outlook Express cannot be installed on Vista.
On the off chance you mean Windows Mail, click Tools | Accounts and select
the account. Click Properties and go to the Advanced tab. Check the box to
leave a copy on the server and the two boxes below it.
For Outlook, go to the following newsgroup and ask how to tell Outlook
to leave a copy of your messages on the server:
microsoft.public.outlook.general
Mention which version of Outlook you are using and that you are running
it under Vista, in case it matters.
Outlook Express won't run under Vista.
For webmail, you'll have to ask your email provider a similar question.
It's a good idea to choose a method that eventually deletes the messages
from the server, to keep the server from having so many of your messages
that it eventually refuses to accept any more.
Thank you, Robert. I think I solved the problem with your help -
I opened Outlook,
clicked on datafile management
clicked on account settings
Clicked the e-mail tab
clicked change
clicked more settings
clicked advanced
and lastly clicked leave on server
