Outlook Express and spelling

I have reloaded XP on my machine. When I try to write a
email in Outlook Express and then use spell check, I get
and "error occurred while the spelling was being
checked"

Hello Frank,

I contacted the Outlook Express folks at Microsoft and asked them about your
issue. They explained to me that Outlook Express does not have its own
spell checking library. It uses the spell checking library from Microsoft
Office or Microsoft Works. If you have either of these products, installing
one of them will address your spell checking concerns with Outlook Express.
