My HD crashed on my Dell XPS T600, that includes 320 meg
ram. With a new hard drive I replaced Windows 98 with XP
Home Addition. My main complaint is I do not have Outlook
Express (6) spell check, which I understand is now a
part of Internet Explorer. All the tools/option switches
are on. both Word and XP have been reloaded several times
for missing files. Single word spell check causes "an
error occurred while spelling being checked" message.
Using the SEND button causes a "spell check on this
document halted" message. MS eMail troubleshooting says a
possible cause is a missing Csapi3t1.dll file
preventing communication with Word Spell Checker. The
WORD spell checker works just fine. A search of the XP
disc indicates this file is not present. It was located
on the Win 98 CD, however it is a new installation disc
and can not be copied. OE HELP/about MS OE, shows the
missing file and lists it as an UNKNOWN. Update downloads
from MS only make matters worse. OE's MS on the Web is
totally useless. Are there Switches in Explorer or Word
that need to be turned on? By all accounts my OE spell
check should work but it does not. Thanks
