Outlook Express 6

Hi,

I know this is a newsgroup for Outlook but the only one I found for Outlook
Express has about a dozen posts and not much info. I am hoping someone here
can help.

I am the Technical Advisor for the Multiple Sclerosis Support Site MSWorld.
One of our staff members had a different hard drive installed on her
computer. She uses Windows XP and Outlook Express for her mail. Since her
computer has returned from the shop see can't receive her MSWorld mail. Her
server is Bell South and she can get and send mail on that account. We put
her Bell South settings in the SMTP setting for her MSWorld email server so
she can now send but can't receive mail from MSWorld. Before her computer
was worked on she had no trouble sending and receiving her MSWorld mail and
had the same server then.

We have tried several different POP setting, example: mail.msworld.org,
pop.msworld.org, msworld.org and none work. We have changed all sorts of
settings in Outlook Express and nothing helped We called Bell South's
technical help and all she said was that Norton Antivirus security setting
might be to high. I can't find any setting in Norton to change. She uses
Norton Antivirus 2004.

I had her download Eudora and see if we could get her mail to work there.
She gets the same problem there. The error she gets when trying to receive
mail is a box asking for her password. She retypes it and it pops up again.
If she cancels that box she gets an error message and at the moment I can't
remember what number it was. I will be talking to her tomorrow and check
that number again.

I am at my wits end and sure would appreciate any help anyone can give.

Thanks!
Sandra

Then you looked at the wrong group. This is where you should look:
