Outlook - download pictures in email

S

SJMP

When I click download image in email, it does not render the images.

If I click forward or reply on that email, then all the images appear. So it
is downloading them, just not showing them. Any idea?

Hi,

Thank you for posting.

From your post, I understand the image is not displayed even if you click
to download image. Nevertheless, if you click forward or reply the message,
the images appear. If I'm off base, please feel free to let me know.

Firstly, I suggest you review the following article regarding the feature
in Outlook 2003:

How to use the Automatic Picture Download Setting feature to determine how
Outlook 2003 blocks external HTML content
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/831608/en-us

In addition, please check whether the following hotfix applies to your
current situation:

Symptom:
In Outlook 2003, you open an HTML message that has embedded images in it.
You have the Don't download pictures or other content automatically in HTML
e-mail setting enabled in Outlook. Therefore, you select the Download
Pictures option in the message. When you do this, the embedded images do
not display in the open message. However, they do display in the reading
pane. This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:

You have the Reading Pane enabled.
You have installed Windows Internet Explorer 7.

Description of the Outlook 2003 hotfix package: April 2, 2008
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951117/en-us

Note: This hotfix is scheduled to be included with Microsoft Office 2003
Service Pack 4.

If the above hotfix does not apply to your current situation, please help
me gather following information for further check:

1. Whether the issue occurs on all the Outlook clients.
2. Whether the issue occurs on any messages including images reference.
3. Whether any error is encountered when attempting to download image after
select "Click here to download pictures". If yes, please capture a
screenshot to me at (e-mail address removed)
4. Please let me know whether the HTML e-mail message contains references
to images that are located on a server in your network or external network.

Sincerely,
Mike Shen
