Outlook auto suggest name compleation.

While in Outlook, I would like my auto select use my
contact list as a default address book. My goal is to use
the auto complete (auto suggest) when typing in
address's etc. I have the auto select checked in the
preferences although nothing comes up or auto fills the
name and email etc. Thanks.

The autosuggest feature only knows about addresses that you've already sent
at least one message to. The more you use Outlook, the more names it will be
able to suggest. (I think there's a maximum, but I've forgotten what --
maybe a thousand or more.)

In the meantime, Outlook will automatically attempt to resolve names or
fragments of names against your Contacts folder. This happens in the
background or when you send the message. You can also right-click any
red-squiggly-underlined message to select a name from the resolution list.
