old email address

using Windows XP and Office 2007

When I begin typing an email address in the recipient line, my auto complete
feature begins to list the names and addresses for me. I just noticed that
one of the names in the auto complete list is one that I have replaced with
a new address. My recipient "Susie" changed her address, and I changed it
in my contacts list. But now when I begin to type her name, both addresses
show up as auto complete options. The old one is not in the contact list,
however, so I am unable to delete it.

Why is the old (replaced) email address showing up as an auto complete
option, and where is it so that I can delete it?

That list is simply addresses you have mailed in the past.

Start a new message.
Start typing the email address you'd like to delete.
Use the arrow keys to move down to the address you'd like to delete.
Hit the delete key.

Actually, I just thought of another possible scenario where this could be
more of a problem. I have several groups in my contact list. If the name
of the group remains the same but the members of that group fluctuate, I can
see a problem arise. As I begin typing the name of the group (Admin Staff)
how can I be sure I'm getting the most current membership and not an old
list that I sent to earlier? From the answers I've received to my original
post, it is quite possible that my group recipient list of names and
addresses could be an old one instead of a new one. I guess the only safe
thing would be to delete the group name for the auto complete list when I
start typing, and then type it again. It should then pick up the new
members, right??

I'm getting the most current membership and not an old list that I sent to

Outlook will resolve members of the group properly. New members will be
included. Old/Removed members will be excluded. Test it yourself.
