Outlook 2007 on XP sp3 wont send email - no error

I am running Outlook 2007 on 2 computers - my desktop running Vista Ultimate
sp1 and my laptop running XP sp3. Just before I went on the road, I backed
up and restored my .pst files from one machine to the other using ABF Outlook
Backup. All email messages and accounts transfered fine.
However, my laptop will not send messages. It receives messages fine, but
new messages just sit in the outbox without any error message. I have
deleted my gmail and hotmail accounts and reentered them without any success.
I send test messages from outlook and I get green checks on connect and
send. The email messages come through when I check my gmail account online -
so outlook is sending messages - but only the automatic messages it sends
itself!
Both computers are running Norton Internet Security 2008. The desktop has
no problems sending emails.
Help.

Hi, I have the exact same problem you posted regarding your Vista, XP, and outlook. Did you manage to solve it?

thanks,

Hisham

Start with uninstalling Norton's integration with Outlook. It's a known
source of causing issues like this.

I had heard of a problem with norton and vista, but not with XP. Do you have
a kb or link to the process of doing that? Are you talking a full uninstall
and reinstall of Norton, or a way of simply removing the email filters?

Thanks

The issue is Norton itself. There is not Microsoft KB for that. Check with
the support documents of Norton on how to properly and completely uninstall
mail integration.
