Outlook 2007 hangs when sending email

Outlook 2007 on Vista SP-1. Outlook hangs when trying to send an email. I
have read other posts and it always seems to be responded to as an end user
problem. My mail accounts are set up correctly, my firewall and virus scan
software are configured correctly. The problems appears to be with Outlook. I
can send mail with no problem using Windows Live Mail.

Outlook 2007 hangs and repeatedly attempts to send the email over and over.
It is in outbox pergatory... I have tried the recommended fixes (new profile,
etc...)

I bought this program when Outlook Express was abandoned. All I would like
to do is send email with attachments. It is an irregular problem. It seems to
occur when "replying" to an email and sending an attachment. Although I just
tried it as I typed this post and it worked fine.

I would prefer not to jump thru hoops to get this MS software to work
properly.

It could also be that the attachments are too large. Try something small to
yourself at 50KB and work your way up to see how large you can send with your
ISP.

I have the same problem with large emails from Outlook 2003 and 2007 in Win
XP (which has auto-update turned on). The emails have attachments of approx
2MB. Trouble is that the continual retries actually send the email to some
recipients who get 40-50 copies before phoning in distress. A complete clean
install of windows and Office has not rectified the problem.

I am runnning into a similar problem but mine is at an enterprise level.

system build windows XP SP3 (final Rev)
office 2007 enterprise edition
email connected to a exchange server 2007

When Sending email with or with out attachment the window for the email
being sent hangs for a period of time which is not consistent, however once
the email is sent a window indicator is left on the taskbar. The indicator
can not be closed, you have to shut down outlook to get them to go away. I
have reloaded office 2007 several times at this point, processed several
repair installations, ran the office diagnostics from the help tab, ran the
ostscan, ran a diagnostic at the exchange level.

I have not found a fix for this.

I have 20 or so users that have reported experiencing the same thing.
