Outlook 2007 - Calendar Sharing error message:

I constantly receive the following error message when trying to open shared
calendars:

"The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem
persists, please restart Outlook."

Well, the problem keeps persisting and I'd rather be able to fix the problem
instead of restarting Outlook all the time.

The odd thing is that it will allow me to open some shared calendars but not
all. If I restart Outlook, it will usually work if I go directly into the
Calendar but if I go back to my Inbox or other email and then switch back to
Calendar, I get the same error. We use Exchange 2003 and I have Outlook 2007.

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Christy,

We encounter the same problem as you discriped. Did you found in the
meantime a solution for this? It is intermittent problem and therefore
difficult to troubleshoot.

Unfortunately, no solution so far. I did find another thread that showed a
lot of others are also having the same problem with Outlook 2007 and Exchange
2003. I think someone discovered that it tends to happen more when the
computer goes into a sleep or suspended mode (screen saver, etc.).
Restarting Outlook seems to be the only solution at this point and the posts
did not seem confident that Microsoft would be coming up with a fix any time
soon. If you find a solution, please let me know. Thanks!

At the moment we either did not found a solution for this. I'll have a look
if the problem is related to sleep or suspend mode.

I would like to add that I am encountering the same error when I attempt to
open shared calendars. Exchange server 2003 Outlook 2007. I can access them
when I first start Outlook but a few hours later I get the same error
message. Nothing is recorded in the event log.
