Outlook 2003 SMTP Forwarding or Redirection

I'm generating an SMTP message internally and sending it to my Exchange
account. In my Outlook 2003 client I have configured a rule to redirect (and
also tried forwarding) the incoming SMTP mail to an external account,
however, this doesn't appear to work. If I manually forward the mail it works
fine. Why is that? Does the Outlook client rule not allow mail generated
through SMTP to be forwarded unless this is done manually?

Any help would be great.

Are you sure it's a problem with outlook and not with settings on the
exchange server? It's quite common to block forwards to the internet.

Hmmm...it could very well be. I'll liase with the Exchange engineers and find
out.

Thanks for your help :).
