Why has automatic forward and redirect stopped working.

I have been forwarding messages from my Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web Access
account to my Gmail account via the Automatic forward rule. Messages suddenly
stopped last week even though my outlook account was receiving messages. I
have deleted and recreated the auto forward rule, and an auto redirect rule,
but neither would forward new messages.

Messages can still be forwarded manually, but this is a real pain. The
capacity of my OWA mailbox is only 50mb whereas my Gmail account is 7340mb
and I have to constantly delete emails which i would like to save.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Ask your Exchange admin. Automatic forwarding to the Internet is very easy
to disable and if it's a corporate account, they may have rules regarding
corporate email on non-corporate systems.

Perhaps your Exchange administrator turned of the "Allow Automatic
Forwards to the Internet" feature?

In any event, this really isn't an Outlook question. OWA is an Exchange
Web client so you may want to ask in the
Microsoft.public.exchange.clients newsgroup.

Best wishes and aloha,

Is there a separate setting available for "auto-redirect"?
I would like to be able to disable only "auto-redirect" in my environment
and allow "auto-forward".

So, if I uncheck the auto-forward option:
In Exchange System Manager ,
ESM - > Global settings -> Internet message - > Default - > Properties - >
"Allow automatic forward"

Is it going to disable the "auto-redirect" ?

Redirect is basically forwarding and a quick test here shows both are
disabled by that option.

FWIW, forward as attachment has the same effect as redirect so even if you
can disable redirect, users could still get the same result.

Also, if you just want to block the ability to redirect to certain domains -
ie, hotmail or gmail - you can set up connectors for those domains and
disable forwarding.
