Outlook 2003 sending problem

Chris

I am trying to send some e-mails through and it seems
imposible. I have a dell laptop with Windows XP
Professional and Office 2003 installed.

I am using at full the Outlook but today when I was
trying to send some messages with attachements (500 Kb,
1MB) it gets stuck! the following message:

Task 'orders - Sending' reported error
(0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a
response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

I have tried sending smaller messages and they went
through...

Any ideeas?

Thanks

Um, send smaller messages?

No, really, I would contact your ISP and find out if they have set a limit
on the attachment size you can send through their server.

This one seems to be coming up regularly. I had the same
problem with a Dell desktop, Office 2003, and a DSL
connection. Go to Tools, Email Accounts and
select "Change" for your account. Click on "more
settings" and then select the "Advanced" tab. Drag the
Server timeout setting all the way to the right (10
minutes).

This should solve your problem, which occurs when you try
to send large attachments. They get delivered, but
Outlook thinks they failed, keeps them in the Outbox, and
periodically resends them. Change the setting, and
everything should work just fine.
