Outlook 2003 sending duplicate emails that have attachments

Help! I upgraded from Outlook Express to Outlook 2003. Whenever I am sending
an email with an attachment (jpeg, doc), the email is sent repeatedly. I have
to go into my Outbox folder and delete it to stop it from being continuously
sent. It appears that Outlook sends the message, but does not move the email
to the sent folder or tag it as sent. So, when it checks for a new message to
send, it sends it again (and again, etc). This is only happening to emails
that have attachments. Emails that do not have attachments do not have this
problem and are only sent 1 time. Is there a fix for this?

Yes. Disable you antivirus email scanner. You do not need it. Your resident
scanner will still protect you

Thanks. I tried this but it did not work. Actually, when I ran a test...
neither of my emails (text only and text with attachment) would send. I did
find another post that recommended setting my server timeout to 10 minutes
from 1 minute and so far this is working with my antivirus scanner
re-enabled.
