Outlook 2003 junk e-mail filter stopped working

My Outlook 2003 junk e-mail filter had been working splendidly UNTIL I
installed the latest junk e-mail filter update. Previously, I had the level
of protection set to low and it was catching virtually all spam. After the
update which appeared to be clean in all respects, the level of protection
had been reset to high. Now, absolutely no spam emails have been caught
since the update was installed. I've made no other changes while installing
the update nor since except to change the level of protection back to low to
no avail. I've even tried using system restore to go back to a date prior to
the junk e-mail filter update and that didn't work either.

try setting it to something else, applying, restart outlook and set it to
low again. I am quite surprised it had a very high success rate on low - do
you have Norton antispam running too, or use Exchange 2003 for your mail
server?

I did try resetting it to low and restarting Outlook (and rebooting as well)
but still no luck. I don't have any other antispam software running and am
not running on Exchange Server. Interestingly, I have a second laptop that I
have set to pick up e-mail from the same account (but set to leave e-mail on
the server). I have not updated that laptop with the latest junk e-mail spam
filter and the Outlook spam filter continues to running correctly on that
laptop. The installs of Office 2003 were made on both laptops at the same
time and both are Dell Inspirons although different models. I'm at a loss at
what else to try. Even with the level of protection set to high, not one
single e-mail has been tagged (I would guess that I've received approximately
70 spams during this period).
