Outlook 2003 - Fonts changing automatically

In Outlook 2003, recently i have noticed that when i type the email, the
fonts are Arial 10 pt. However, when the person receives the email, the font
changes to Times New Roman 10 pt.
I have checked all the settings and everything is proper. This is also a
problem seen recentøly with many people.

Does anyone have any idea, why does this happen?

Hard to say with this level of detail. Are the HTML formatted messages? Are
they still being received in the HTML format as well?

yes, the message was sent in HTML format. Then, after me facing this issue, I
change the format to Rich Text and then the problem just disappeared.

Does this mean, that I shouldn't use HTML format.

Y is it that only I and other 4-5 people are facing this problem and for
rest evryone it works fine.

Yes, this is an issue which occurs only with specific senders.
No, the sender is not using OWA.
Nor, is the recipient using OWA.
Tried to send the email to many different people. All the recipient receives
the email in Times New Roman. Whereas the email while drafting shows the
fonts as Arial 10 pt.

Did some testing:
1. Someone Sent e-mail to me from her. I receive it as Arial
2. Sent same mail back with a reply. What I wrote shows as Times New Roman,
but the initial message is still in Arial.

3. I sent me an e-mail in Arial. Recipient receives it with Times New Romans
font.
4. Recipient replied to the e-mail. When I receive, both messages are in
Arial.

Isn't this funny.

Then i changed the Email format from HTML to Rich Text and everything was
smooth and fine.

No. the sender is not using OWA to send the message to others. Nor is the
fonts changed from Arial to Times New Roman

Hi again,

I also tried using another workstation.
Now the email sent from another workstations is received correctly in Arial
10 pts as per the requirement.

What could be the problem with the existing workstation?

Hi again Mike,

I tried all the possible solutions.
Sent email using OWA.
Now, this was very strange. Recipient received the 1st line in an email in
Arial 10 pts (original) and rest 2 lines and signature were in Times New
Roman.

Sent email using Outlook in Safe Mode.
Same problem. All the sentences and signature were received in Times New
Roman inspite of the settings being Arial 10 pts.

Sent email using default Outlook 2003.
Same scenario as in OWA. 1 line in Arial 10 pts and rest 2 lines and
signature in TNR.

What could be done next?

Thanks for your response.

From your description, I understand that the issue only occurs when sending
email on a specific workstation by using Outlook. In addition, the issue
also occurs if you send message by using OWA. If I am off base, please let
me know.

At this time, please let me know whether you also run OWA test on the
problem client. If you run the OWA test on other good client, whether the
issue can be reproduced? In addition, please let me know whether all the
users logon the problem workstation encounter the problem when sending
message or only specific sender encounter the problem. We need to check
whether it is a workstation side issue or user side issue.

In addition, please reproduce the issue and help me gather following
information to check the issue:

1. In the Sent Item folder of the sender's mailbox, please move the problem
message to a PST and send to me to further check
2. In the Inbox folder of the recipient's mailbox, please move the same
problem message to a PST and send to me to further check

You can zip the PST files and send to me at (e-mail address removed)
