why does Outlook 2007 change fonts indiscriminately and randomly

Problem with outlook email. When I send a normal email, with a range of fonts
selected to suit the document, some of the fonts are randomly changed and
some have their size increased x 100. i.e. 13.5 becomes 135. This problem
started Nov/Dec 2008.
e.g. I may write the whole email in Arial 10pt. When it is received the
fonts have been randomly changed to be a selection of Arial, TNR, Verdana
etc. along with random pt changes to 100 time larger than when created.

Any help please
