Outlook 2002

Hope someone can help. Am trying to delete messages from the inbox, drafts,
sent, outbox folders in outlook 2002 but am getting the following message:
The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem
persists, restart outlook.
I have tried this several tomes but no luck.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Try running Detect / Repair within Outlook
Also with outlook closed locate and run scanpst.exe on your data file
