PLEASE HELP! I have posted multiple times, does anyone
know how to fix this problem? I cannot logon to my
incoming mail server. Outgoing, no problem. But
incoming--no go. Error message says check my settings
(user name, password, etc.) and they are all correct.
Outlook Express works just fine. ISP says it is
Outlook's fault. I am not the only person with this
problem--can't anyone help us?
Thanking you in advance,
Tanya

Mr. Yancey,
When I try to test the settings, the error message reads:
Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Unable to logon to
incoming mail server (POP3). Please verify the settings
in the User Name, Password and E-mail fields.
If I try to check the mail, it gives me the Enter Network
Password box, with the cursor flashing in the password
field. I keep clicking ok, and the error box comes up
and reads:
Task 'mail.adelphia.net-Sending and Receiving' reported
error (0x800CC0F): 'The connection to the server was
interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your
server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
The server responded: ??RR invalid user name or
password.'
The password I entered is correct, it works just fine
with Outlook Express. Any ideas?
Tanya

Could you turn on diagnostic logging (see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q300479) and post
the OPMLog.log file (as an attachment) after you try to do a send/receive?

Tried the Diagnostic toggle but could not find either *.log or a OPMLOG file in Documents and Settings.

Make sure you search for hidden files.

Hi
I have the same problems at work.

normally it popup with request for password even though the password is
correct and filled in, all I have to do it check the "remember box" but
it keeps comming back.

I have tried earlier solutions from microsoft on resetting permission
restrictions in regedt32, but didnt help.

But I did a OPMlog.log file since Tanay didnt.

There are three sessions in the log file. its atrached to this
message.

the first (9:12) was succesful in getting the mails.

the second (9:15) was succesful too and even downloaded the test
messages which outlook had generated.
a strange thing is that when Testing the password in the account setup,
the test doesnt show up in the log file.

the third (9:17) Failed by poping up with password request and in the
logfile it says "-ERR Your mailbox is locked by another POP3 session.
Please wait a few (up to 10) minutes and try again"

why does it says that, could be because 20 pc's trys to connect to the
same mailserver too frequently and then the mailserver denies access?
is this my internet providers fault?

hope some one could inlighten me on the actual fault that causes this.
