When sending an email with an attachment of 1Mb or more the email remains in
my out box. Some recipients have advised that they received the email many
times & I end up deleting the email to stop it being sent. I have tried the
same attachment in Outlook Express and it goes without a problem.
Has anyone experienced this?
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Have you tried the Inbox Repair Tool?

How to find and run the Inbox Repair tool in Outlook

1) Disable any scanning of mail, especially outgoing mail, by an anti-virus
or -spam scanner.
2) Lengthen the server timeout value on the Advanced tab of your account
properties pages.
3) Set your send/receive interval to no less than 10 minutes.

I have tried 'Detect & Repair' under Help in Outlook & it appears to have
worked. Thanx.

You're welcome....and thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear you got it sorted
out.
