I have recently been unable to send emails, although I can still receive
them. My ISP has advised me that it is an error with Outlook Express. When I
try to send an email I get the following error message:-

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'.
Subject 'Test', Account: 'pop.virgin.net', Server: 'smtp.virgin.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 5.7.1 <[email protected]>:
Recipient address rejected: Access denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

I use Windows XP SP3 and Oulook Express 6.

That usually indicates you haven't set up your smtp account to authenticate
to your mail server.

I have spoken to my ISP and they have advised that it is set up properly

Oh, and they could never be wrong, uh huh. So what DID happen when you
configure the e-mail account define in OE to authenticate to their SMTP
mail host? If it doesn't help, you can always uncheck the option, ya
know.
