OT: 'Please Insert Disk' DVD Problem

Hi,

I've just downloaded & installed Media Player Classic but whenever I
try & watch a film it says "Please Insert Disk" - can anyone help
please?

FWIW I get a similar message when running Quintessential Player, which
always starts with a message "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a
disk into Drive A". After clicking "Continue" several times the message
disappears, but there is no reason why it should come up at all.
