Hiya,

I've got a rar file I want to read & would like to know of any
freeware rar file readers.

I downloaded one program but all it did was unzip rar files & mine's
not zipped.

Basically I don't know what I'm doing.

Any help would be appreciated!

OK most RAR files are similar to zip files, in that they contain
compressed versions of other files. My favourite program to, as you
say, 'un-zip' them is at http://www.7-zip.org/

For more information about RAR files and any other extension look here:

Hi John,

7-ZIP, Optimal Archive, IZArc, and I think ZIPGenius, handle RAR
files. Here's a roundup of freeware winzip alternatives:

Hi Chad,

Just got in from work. I've bookmarked your link (thanks!) & will have
a look later.
