Original settings

I have lost my settings from my desktop as my son was
looking at porn sites so I tried to set it up so when
logging on a password would be required,however I only
suceeded in setting up a new account and have lost all my
original stuff.

How can I retrieve this.

How can I retrieve this.

It sounds like you were using the built in administrator account for
everyday use. The account becomes hidden when another user account is added
to the system. Is your new account a member of the administrator group? If
yes, take ownership of your files in your old account and move them to your
new one.
