"or" rules

I can create "and/or" rules for mail in Outlook Express, but in outlook that
option is not there. Is there another way to create the rule? for example: if
I want to filter out words in the subject such as "free" or "extend" I have
to create 2 separate rules, whereas in Outlook Express it is a simple and/or
option.

But 2 rules for Outlook indeed.

That depends on your version of Outlook, which you neglected to mention.

Microsoft improved OL2003 so now users can select the operator between
operands (i.e., choose OR instead of AND)?

The versions are outlook express 6.0 and outloook 2003, but I tried earlier

No, since Outlook 2002, there has been a rule condition "with specified
words in the subject".

Along those lines, my question is:
When you use that rule "with specified words in the subject" OL2003 seems to
only allow the OR operator.

What if I want to create a rule that looks for two words AND'd. "If X AND
Y, then move to folder Z".

Hello:

I am also having the same problem. I am using Outlook 2003 and don't see
any way to specify OR when creating rules. This is easily done in Outlook
Express, I would expect the same feature in Outlook.

Any further thoughts?

Create separate rules for that. Make sure you sort the rules correctly and
add the action "stop processing more rules" accordingly.

OR rules are the only kind you can create in Outlook. Enter the first
string in the rule and click Add. Enter the second string and click Add.
You'll see that they are separated by "or".
