Email rules

I would like to have some emails(Spam) deleted from the server before i even
get them in outlook 2007. I usto use Outlook Express and Windows Mail and in
the creat new rule i would put in the email address and then click on Delete
From Server, but this is notin outlook. So i went and tryed Permenetly Delete
and it would add another part to the rule that said "and stop processing more
rules" What does that mean? Also when i make a rule to put a email in a
spersific folder it will add lines like "And on this machine only". Why is it
doing this?
Also i made some rules to delete emails but i still get them. I also get 3
or 4 of the same emails but not from everyone that emails me just some.
Outlook Express and Windows Mail was so easy to make rules but im using
Windows 7 now and Microsoft took it out.
I hope this makes sence and someone can help me.

Outlook can only process its rules on retrieved e-mails. It does not have
the option to "delete from server" as does Outlook Express.

If you want e-mails deleted up on the server, the best place to define such
rules is also up on the server. Use the webmail interface to your account
to define server-side rules. Of course, how robust or weak are the server-
side rules depends on who is the e-mail provider but who you never
identified. Some webmail options let you define okay rules but they won't
be as powerful as the rules set. Some webmail providers have rules that
suck and don't let you do much at all.

If you are permanently deleting an item, it doesn't appear in any folder.
So why would you want the possibility of exercising other rules against the
same non-existent message about whether it is marked read or not, moved to
another folder, categorized, or whatever? That item doesn't exist anymore
so there is no point in other rules trying to run against an item that you
are tossing. Actually the stop-clause should exist in all your rules
unless you have looked at the flow of e-mail through them and actually want
those rules OR'ed together (i.e., you really do want more than one rule to
get exercised against an e-mail).

Ask about 1 problem per post. Don't expect anyone to address all your
issues under one thread. I only addressed your first issue.
