Can any 1 tell me Why win-xp home, will not let me put win-2000 pro as a
second system
 
The proper and easiest way to set up dual booting is to install the oldest
OS first.

Install Win 2k first, then XP. Installing in this manner will set up a
choice of operating systems to boot into.

Installing older OS after the newer will result in more (complicated) steps
to get it working.
