Opening Program Prepared for Windows 98

I have a new computer with XP. Trying to install my genealogy program, PAF5, and it is not working. The download shows "done", an icon appears, but I cannot open it. Is there a problem with XP and PAF5 which is the Church of Latter Day Saints program.
 
Try setting the program to run in compatibility mode. When
you say download I presume you mean "install" so just look
in the program folder for the program and tight click on the
exe file and select properties. The popup window will have
a compatibility tab.
