I receive the following error everytime I attempt to open
exel document. Can open the document by first opening the
Excel program and then select File, Open and then browse
for the file. Any help appreciated.

Using Excel 2000.

Error message:

Cannot find the file 'C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\Desktop\FolderName\Current
List.xls' (or one of its components). Make sure the path
and
filename are correct and that all required libraries are
available.

I had this same issue, and dug further back in these
archives. Open Excel and go to Tools | Options and on
the General tab, uncheck "Ignore Other Applications".
Close Excel and you should be able to open your Excel
sheet by double-click again.

Can you explain why your suggestion works. I don't
actually understand what "Ignore other applications" means.
