Hi

IE6 with all the updates.

When I right click on any internet link and then click on "Open in New
Window", it opens the link twice and sometimes it opens more than 30 times.
I cleared the cookies, tem files, internet temps files and reset the browser
to the default configuration but this did not solve it.

Anything elese I must do to fix this.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

To narrow down the issue, please help answer the following questions first.

1. Please tell me the version of your Windows Operating System and whether
you have installed all service packs and updates on your machine.

2. Please confirm whether the problem occurs only when some specific web
sites are browsed or it occurs when any web sites are browsed.

3. Please check whether your computer has been infected by viruses, it is
recommended to run a virus scan first.

4. Please let me know whether Internet Explorer has been set to the default
browser or not.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
Neo Zhu,

Do a thorough check for malware, following all of the steps at one of these
Web pages.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing programs like Messenger Plus,
whose ads for malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince
you that you owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

McAfee is no insurance that you aren't infected.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply and thanks Frank for the information sharing.

I agree with Frank that a thorough check for malware and virus must be done
prior.

You might refer to the links given by Frank for malware check and remove.

And you could also download Windows Defender for Windows XP SP2 from the
following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/protect/computer/spyware/default.mspx

Please note, it is free to download for Windows XP SP2 user.

The following Windows Defender Guide is for your reference:

Please also run a thorough virus scan on your machine.

After you finish the check, please let me know the result.

Thanks.
