Ope/Save in IE 6 with XP SP2

Somehow it is not working since whenever I try to download a EXE, a "white"
blank screen shows up. I can stil "save link" to disk but I would like to
have this again.

How can I get this to work again?

It sounds like something is trying to block the download.
Security settings or software??

I do nor know for sure that if the below would apply. But worth a try for a go see

For Open

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\shell\openas\command

To enable the checkbox set the (Default) value to "rundll32.exe shell32.dll,OpenAs_RunDLL %1".
Return to the desktop and press F5 for the change to take effect.

..For Save
