Only find ONE item each time? You, too?

Anybody else have this problem, or a comment?

I have Microsoft AntiSpyware set for a full scan, every
night at 9. Each time, though, it finds only one -- the
same -- item: IBIS Toolbar. Yet my other spyware utilties
find 20, 30 or 40+ items (AdAware; Spybot S&D; Ewido) This
happens even when I don't run the other ones (leaving the
field wide open for Microsoft).

Is there something wrong with my settings?

Thanks.

Nope, the current release of MSAS DOES NOT scan for
cookies. The reason is that cookies are data files, and
CAN NOT harm your PC. MS has said they will readdress
this issue based upon the responses they recieve during
the beta test period.

Thank goodness a comapny is actually taking into
consideration what the end-users want to see in a
product, unlike most companies whose development teams
decide what to include and what to exclude from a
product. This is a VERY welcome change in the way that
software companies operate.

Too frequently these development teams fail to take into
consideration what the people they are developing the
software for want, only causing many end-users to decide
against using the software. This leads to a neverending
cycle of development and redevelopment of the software.
It's far less expersive for the development team to get
it right the first time, not the second time, or time
time, etc., etc., etc. Now to mention, less costly for
the end-user (i.e., US)!

As for the IBIS Toolbar constantly showing up, first
close all web browsers. Next check c:\windows\prefetch
(XP only) and see if any items there contain IBIS, or
whatever MSAS is detecting. If so, shred them using a
FREE file shredder from download.com. If this doens't
work, boot into Safe Mode (F8 before Windows screen
during boot/reboot) and run a full system scan. This
should help remove the infection. Make absolutely
certain that you ARE NOT using Ewido's Guards, Spybot's
Immunization feature, AND/OR MSAS' Real-Time Protection
at the same time. If you are, then they can conflict,
whihc might explain how IBIS Toolbar is constantly
showing up on your system. I'd suggest using MSAS' Real-
Time Protection, as Spybot's Immunization feature is a
PoS (launch Spybot to disable IE protection so you can
change IE settings, ABSOLUTE STUPIDITY), and I have not
used Ewido's Guards since they can conflict with MSAS'
Real-Time Protection so I can't tell you how effective
Ewido is in regards to protecting the system from
infection and setting/file changes.
